Day 3: Thursday, April 20th
Your tour opens in Cairns, the tropical gateway to one of the world's spectacular natural attractions and World Heritage site, The Great Barrier Reef. (D)
Day 4: Friday, April 21st
Great Barrier Reef
Board a catamaran for an exciting excursion to the Great Barrier Reef! This is an immense series of 2,800 coral reefs which are home to amazingly diverse marine life. Explore the spectacular reef along the Michaelmas Cay. The choice is yours: during the excursion you can choose to explore the shores of this small sand island on the outer reef; or perhaps you would prefer snoreling to see vibrant sea life up close. Back on board, a marine biologist will have an informative lecture and you will enjoy a fish feeding presentation. (B, L)
Day 5: Saturday, April 22nd
Come to know the history of Australia's original inhabitants at the Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Center. See the tradtional dances, learn how to play a didgeridoo or even throw a boomerang. Browse the renowned art gallery and visit the interpretation center which houses a collection of artifacts. (B)

Day 6: Sunday, April 23rd
Your morning is at leisure. Make your own adventure or simply relax and take in the tropical atmosphere. Later today, fly to one of the great cities of the world, Sydney. (B)
Day 7: Monday, April 24th
During a tour of Sydney, see where the original English colonists first settled in 1788 and experience Kings Cross, the iconic Harbour Bridge, Chinatown, the Rocks, Circular Quay, the Botanic Gardens and the fashionable suburb of Paddington. Later discover one of the world's great architectural accomplishments on a guided tour through the Sydney Opera House. Finally, learn how raw opals mined from the depths of the earth are transformed into beautiful works of art at the National Opal Centre. Tonight is free to explore this beautiful waterfront city and its popular restaurant scene. (B)
Day 8: Tuesday, April 25th
Today is at your leisure with endless opportunities! And then tonight marvel at scenic vistas during a delightful dinner cruise on Sydney Harbour, one of the cleanest and most beautiful harbours on earth. (B, D)
Day 9: April 26th
Sydney - Christchurch, New Zealand
Today say goodbye to Australia and fly to the historic city of Christchurch. Devastated by an earthquake in 2011, see how the "garden city" is recreating itself. Tonight make yourself right at "home" when a New Zealand family welcomes you into their home for dinner! This is sure to be a fun evening where you'll learn about the customs of the "Kiwis" and enjoy a home-cooked meal. (B, D)
Day 10: April 27th
Today enjoy leisure time to explore Christchurch at your own pace. Whether it's the wildlife reserve, beautiful Hagley Park, the Canterbury Museum, or a ride on the scenic gondola, enjoy what the garden city has to offer. (B).
Day 11: April 28th
Christchurch - Mt. Cook - Queenstown
Traverse the spectacular countryisde to New Zealand's most famous national park, Mount Cook. On your way, visit a Canterbury farmyard for a fantastic opportunity to learn how a New Zealand family farm operates. Continue to Queenstown and enjoy a stop at a local fruit stand to gain an inside look at the produce of New Zealand. (B, D)
Day 12: April 29th
Queenstown - Milford Sound - Queenstown
En route to Milford Sound, enjoy the rugged grandeur of the Hollyford Valley. You'll travel through ancient beech forest via the Homer Tunnel. During a cruise of the breathtaking fjords, you will see why this is one of the most iconic locations on the South Island. With rock faces that rise nearly 4,000 feet on either side, the natural scenery is remarkable. Following your cruise, you return to Queenstown. You may choose to return via optional flight (extra cost and weather permitting) for spectacular views of New Zealand's Southern Alps. (B, L)

Day 13: April 30th
There are several options you may consider on your day at leisure today. Maybe the "Journey through Middle Earth" tour which takes you through mountains and countryside showcasing spots filmed for The Lord of the Rings trilogy, or an exhilirating jet boat ride on the Shotover River! Or there's always good shopping and people watching in the fantastic city center. (B)
Day 14: May 1st
Queenstown - Arrowtown - Queenstown
Kick back and relax on a touring day of the turn-of-the century Gold Rush settlement of Arrowtown (try one of their famous "pies"), and next explore the Central Otago region where many of New Zealand's best wines are grown and produced. During a stop at a local winery, visit their storage cave for a tasting! (B, D)
Day 15: May 2nd
Sadly we say goodbye to our adventure in the South Pacific! For those not ready to end the journey, a 3-night beach extension to Fiji is a lovely way to unwind! (B)
